Plywood
Plywood is manufactured by gluing together thin veneers of wood. Plywood is the original engineered wood product. Plywood's cross-laminated construction capitalizes on the more desirable physical and mechanical properties of wood:
Superior dimensional stability
Exceptional two-way strength
Highly resistant to damage from impact
Structural
Plywood provides additional insulation, strength and integrity to a structure. It is used to create the skin or sub-surface for wood framed wall/flooring/roofing assemblies.
Concrete Form
Forming boards are wood panels used to form concrete as it hardens. Forming boards are made of specialized plywood panels manufactured with stricter limits on face and crossband species and thickness than standard construction of Douglas fir plywood.
Form panels are 10% to 30% stronger than similar thicknesses of standard Douglas fir plywood panels, depending on the conditions of use. Faster concrete pour rates are possible with these panels compared to using standard plywood panels.
Douglas fir plywood is available with resin impregnated overlays. Overlaid panels provide a smoother concrete surface and more re-uses than standard panels.
Rim Board
Rim board is used to surround I-joist floor-joists. Rim boards mount between sills and wall plates. In addition to transferring lateral and vertical loads to the frame of the house, RIM Board can be ordered to match the depth of I-Joist framing members—something that conventional lumber typically does not match.
