Dimensional Lumber

Dimensional lumber refers to the standard pre-dimensioned wood used in wood-frame construction, including walls, floors and roofs. Dimensional lumber is manufactured in a variety of sizes for use in wall framing, flooring systems, roof trusses, and exterior applications.

Solid Timber

Timbers are thicker cross sections of lumber typically used for post and beam construction. Several wood products are used for columns (posts) and beams including: built-up lumber (nail-laminated) beams, glulam, parallel strand lumber, laminated veneer lumber, girder trusses and wood I-joists.

Purlins are horizontal roof members that span the trusses or rafters and support the roof cladding.

Rafters are sloped roof frame members that usually extend from the top wall plate to the roof ridge, or in the case of smaller roofs, from plate to plate.

Structural Panels

Structural wood includes structural panels such as plywood and oriented strandboard (OSB), which are also widely used in building construction.

Engineered Wood Products

Engineered wood products are factory manufactured using a combination of wood materials and layers, engineered and combined into specific products.
