Canada Wood in Wood Frame Construction Training Program
Canada Wood Supported materials and lecture fees for participants in the 10th Korea Wood Construction Training Program, which was held in Cheongju from June 26 to July 8, 2006. 50 participants attended lectures at nights and applied knowledge to build wood frame houses during the days, which were donated to a welfare facility for the disabled in the community. Canada Wood contributed to the development of Korea’s wood frame construction market and the growth of technicians, as well as to the local community. Mr. Jeong, the director of Canada Wood Korea Office, introduced the roles and activities of Canada Wood, which has initiated its operation in Korea since April, 2006. He mentioned that the organization plans to promote the wood products and expand the wood frame construction market in Korea. He also explained the types of wood materials used in this training program and the technical and environmental advantages of wood products. The daily construction process was introduced from the beginning to the completion, showing how easily one can build a wood frame house.
